■Product Description
■The HS-121 Trident 2E was a "thrust-enhanced medium-range three-engine passenger aircraft" developed by Hawker Siddeley in the late 1960s. It was an improved version of the early Trident, equipped with Spey 512 engines to compensate for the weaknesses of the original Trident, namely its limited range and payload. It made its maiden flight on July 27, 1967, and was operated by BEA (British European Airways) and others from 1968. 117 aircraft were produced (compared to over 1700 Boeing 727s). It was not adopted for the US market due to insufficient seating capacity. It was retired after a small-scale operation.
