■Product Description
■The Fairchild C-123 Provider is an American military transport aircraft developed after World War II and manufactured by Fairchild. It entered service with the United States Air Force in 1955. In addition to the U.S. Air Force, it was also actively operated by the Coast Guard and the Federal Aviation Administration of Alaska (FAA).
For use in the polar environment of Alaska, Fairchild J44 engines were added to the wingtips and ski kits were fitted to the landing gear. This variant was called the C-123J. The Alaska Air National Guard used the C-123J to patrol the Arctic region and transport supplies and necessary equipment to polar research bases.
