■Product Description
■The Hotchkiss H-39 is an improved version of the H-35 light tank developed by the French company Hotchkiss, and was introduced in 1939 with the aim of improving mobility and strengthening firepower. While the H-35 had a strong character as an "infantry tank" for infantry support, the H-39 was adjusted to be faster and have performance suitable for cavalry units (armored units). - Armor thickness: - Front: Maximum 40 mm - Sides: 30 mm - Considered thick for a light tank of the time. - Engine: Hotchkiss 6-cylinder gasoline (120 hp) - Maximum speed: Approximately 36-40 km/h (faster than the H-35) - Weight: Approximately 12 tons It improved upon the weakness of the H-35, which was its lack of power, and allowed for more mobile operation. - Caliber: 37 mm - Muzzle velocity: Approximately 700 m/s (SA18 is approximately 400 m/s) - Penetration:
- Approximately 30 mm at 500 m → Effective against light tanks and armored vehicles in 1940
