■Product Description
■The Gearing-class was the final development of the Fletcher-class, the main battleship destroyer of the US Navy during World War II. Commissioned in March 1945, near the end of the war, it remained in service for a long time after the war and was operated by various countries. It was equipped with three twin 5-inch dual-purpose guns from the previous class and two quintuple torpedo tubes as its main armament, as well as a full complement of anti-aircraft and anti-submarine equipment. Another characteristic was its enlarged hull, which improved its cruising range. Construction took place from 1945 to 1952, with a total of 96 ships produced. The kit includes full hull parts for one ship, and as a bonus kit, a 1/72 scale twin gun turret for the same destroyer is included. Etched parts are included.
