With its all-metal construction and enclosed cabin, it was a design ahead of its time, and even during the difficult post-war period, production was moved overseas. The W34 was developed as its successor. Equipped with an air-cooled radial engine, more than 2000 units were produced and it was widely used for transport and training during the war.
