The TN360, which appeared in 1967 as the successor to the T360, Honda's first light truck, had a distinctive structure such as a mid-ship engine layout and a monocoque body, and can be said to be the ancestor of later Honda light trucks. It gained popularity with its high power of 30 horsepower and spacious cargo bed, and was further developed into the TN-III with minor changes, and then into the TN-V in 1972. The TN-V changed to vertical four-lamp headlights, and was characterized by a front mask that went beyond the conventional image of a light truck.
