■ Description
The F-4 jet fighter is an air defense aircraft carrier of the United States Navy.・It was developed as a controlled air-to-air fighter. With two high-powered J79 turbojet engines, a high performance and payload, and a large anti-aircraft radar and a sophisticated fire control system, it became a dual-purpose fighter aircraft for radar pickup officers (RIOs) to share tasks. The latest radar homing missile AIM-7 was equipped with four rounds, and the AIM-9 was equipped with four short-range infrared guided missiles.
The VF-111 (formerly the 111th Fighter Squadron), which flew F-8s on the eve of the Vietnam War and converted to F-4Bs in 1971, took part in the post-war air campaign Operation Linebacker, bombing of North Vietnam and recording the downing of MiGs.
