■Product Description
The Type 5 Fighter, a single-seat fighter that marked the end of the Imperial Japanese Army's fighter force. It appeared in the Japanese skies in 1945, replacing the water-cooled engine of the Type 3 Fighter "Hien," which had been plagued by production delays and engine troubles, with the lightweight and highly reliable air-cooled Ha-112 engine.
Although its maximum speed was slightly inferior to the "Hien," the Ha-112 engine resulted in a dramatic improvement in flight performance, including climb rate and turning ability, thanks to its weight reduction and high practicality. It engaged in dogfights on equal footing with high-performance American fighters such as the P-51 Mustang and Grumman F6F Hellcat, and continued to fight valiantly on the front lines of homeland defense until the end of the war.
This kit allows you to choose from five different markings, allowing you to freely express the individuality of each aircraft and the atmosphere of each battlefront. Overall length when completed: 124mm, overall width: 167mm
