■Product Description
The F-14 Tomcat? is a two-seat, supersonic, twin-engine jet carrier-based fighter aircraft deployed by the U.S. Navy to aircraft carriers in 1974. Its most distinctive features are its unique fuselage shape for generating lift and its variable geometry wings (VG wings) that can change angle depending on flight conditions.
As a main carrier-based fighter, it was used for air superiority, fleet air defense, and interception missions, as well as tactical reconnaissance with the addition of reconnaissance pods. It was a legendary aircraft that continued to protect the Navy's skies in all kinds of missions until the complete retirement of all aircraft in September 2006.
In this kit, the elegant lines of the aircraft and even the smallest details have been precisely reproduced. Furthermore, the external inspection doors on each part can be displayed open or closed, and the interiors have also been meticulously reproduced. The markings can be selected from the popular U.S. Navy Fighter Squadron 84 (VF-84) "Jolly Rogers," known for its skull and crossbones emblem, and the U.S. Navy Fighter Squadron 111 (VF-111) "Sundowners," with its striking tail fin design depicting a setting sun.
