■Product Description
The F-104J fighter jet was selected as the successor to the F-86F, which supported the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in its early days. Equipped with a powerful engine in a small, lightweight airframe, it boasted high stability even in the supersonic range exceeding Mach 2, and was called the "last manned fighter jet." Although mainly produced domestically, a total of 210 aircraft were deployed, including imported aircraft, and it continued to play a role in Japan's air defense mission from the 1960s until the F-15J was deployed in 1986. It was affectionately known as "Eikou" (Glory) in the Self-Defense Forces, but now it is commonly called "Maruyon."
This kit is a completely new design with new molds from 2025. Just like the actual aircraft, the rear of the fuselage can be attached and detached, and it is possible to display it with the engine exposed. The fuselage is divided according to the panel lines, while the rear is molded as one piece, pursuing a structure that allows for a beautiful finish without stress.
