■Product Description
The Type 89 tank, Japan's first officially adopted tank, was initially equipped with a gasoline engine. However, anticipating operation on the continent where water is difficult to secure, it was later fitted with an "air-cooled diesel engine" that did not require coolant, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced the risk of hull fire due to fuel leaks. This type, fitted with this engine, was called the Type B, while the earlier gasoline-engine vehicles were called the Type A to distinguish them. This kit meticulously reproduces the differences in the Type B, such as the fuel filler cap on the top of the hull and the air intake on the top of the hull. Furthermore, the luggage wrapped in a sheet and placed on the rear of the hull, often seen in photographs of the time, is modeled with plastic parts, allowing you to recreate a scene that will stand out in dioramas.
The anti-aircraft machine gun can be displayed in either mounted or stowed position. The tracks are made of soft resin belts, and the muffler cover is reproduced using photo-etched parts.
