About the actual Type 3 Medium Tank Long Barrel Type
The Type 3 Medium Tank [Chi-Nu], produced from the end of 1944, was equipped with a tank gun converted from a field gun as its main armament, but it was not in a favorable position against the M4 Sherman, the main battle tank of the Allied forces. Therefore, the plan was to mount a powerful Type 5 7.5 cm (75 cm = 75 mm) tank gun in order to fight at a greater range, and modifications to the gun mount were being considered.
