■Product Description
●About the Zero Fighter Model 52A (Nakajima-made)
The Zero Fighter Model 52 'A' was produced not only by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries but also by Nakajima Aircraft. The Type 99 20mm Model 2 machine gun Model 3, which was a drum magazine type as in the Mitsubishi-made Model 52, was changed to a belt-fed Model 4 in the Model 52A, and was updated to be able to hold 125 rounds of ammunition. At this time, the mounting position of the machine gun was shifted slightly forward, so the machine gun mechanism protruded from the leading edge of the main wing, so a trapezoidal cover was added. Also, a teardrop-shaped bulge was added to the underside of the main wing because the drum magazine did not fit in the wing, but the bulge was removed when it was changed to a belt-fed type. These are the external differences between the standard Model 52 and the Model 52A.
Furthermore, one difference between the Mitsubishi and Nakajima versions is the length of the heat shield placed near the exhaust port of the thrust-type single exhaust pipe; the Nakajima version has a longer heat shield than the Mitsubishi version. In addition, the Nakajima Type 52A differs from the Mitsubishi Type 52A in that it is equipped with a larger spinner due to a change in the propeller governor and a different suspension system for the auxiliary fuel tanks.

●Kit Contents
In this product, these detailed differences have been meticulously recreated using newly molded parts after careful research of numerous photographs. The markings reproduce the aircraft that appeared in the wartime film "Torpedo Squadron Sortie" and belonged to the 653rd Air Group, which fought valiantly as an aircraft carried by the aircraft carrier Zuikaku.
