■Product Description
●About the Zero Fighter Model 52A (Mitsubishi-made)
The Zero Fighter Model 52 'A' (commonly known as the Zero Fighter Model 52A) is a type of Zero Fighter Model 52 with an increased ammunition capacity for its 20mm machine guns. The original Model 52 was equipped with the Type 99 20mm No. 2 Type 3 machine guns on its wings, which could be loaded with 100 rounds of ammunition per gun using a drum magazine. However, the Model 52A was modified to use a belt-fed Type 4 machine gun, which could be loaded with 125 rounds of ammunition.
Because the mounting position of the updated 20mm machine guns was moved forward, a trapezoidal cover was added to the base of the machine gun protrusion on the leading edge of the wing. Also, the original Model 52 had a teardrop-shaped bulge on the underside of the wing to house the drum magazine, but this bulge was eliminated in the Model 52A because it was changed to a belt-fed system. Furthermore, all Mitsubishi-made Type 52A aircraft are equipped with short heat shields, a characteristic of Mitsubishi-made aircraft, at the exhaust port of their thrust-type single exhaust pipes.

●Kit Contents
These differences have been meticulously reproduced in this product using new molds. In particular, the appearance with the short heat shields made by Mitsubishi is being reproduced in three dimensions for the first time in a 1/48 scale Zero fighter plastic model kit. The markings include decals for aircraft belonging to the original 343rd Air Group and the 221st Air Group. The aircraft belonging to the 343rd Air Group is one that still exists at the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Hamamatsu Air Base Public Relations Center.
