This is a type of Suisei aircraft that replaced the water-cooled Atsuta engine, which had been plagued by low operational rates and production delays, with an air-cooled Kinsei engine. Although its speed performance decreased due to increased air resistance, its climbing ability and range improved. And above all, its reliability and maintainability were greatly improved, so it was welcomed by the units. It appeared in 1944 and fought valiantly in attack missions against enemy task forces and kamikaze missions until the end of the war.
