■Product Description
About the Type 5 Medium Tank [Chi-Ri]
The Type 5 Medium Tank [Chi-Ri] was the last medium tank developed by the Imperial Japanese Army. It was equipped with a long-barreled 75mm gun with an automatic loader as its main armament, and a 37mm gun mounted on the front of the hull as a secondary armament. With a frontal armor thickness of 75mm and a weight of 35t, it was significantly scaled up compared to previous Imperial Japanese Army tanks and was developed to be the latest and strongest purely Japanese tank. There are documents that describe the construction of only one prototype in March 1945 and the implementation of driving and firing tests. At the end of the war, it was confiscated by the occupying forces with its main gun removed.
