About the actual Type 97 Medium Tank [New Turret Chi-Ha] Early Chassis
The Type 97 Medium Tank [Chi-Ha] was a core and active force in the Japanese tank units.
Initially, this tank was mainly intended for infantry support, but from 1942, production of the [New Turret Chi-Ha] began, equipped with a 47mm anti-tank gun in a larger turret to improve anti-tank capabilities.
Furthermore, the shape of the rear half of the hull where the engine is housed was changed to a new chassis that improved ballistic resistance and engine cooling efficiency, but vehicles equipped with the new turret on the conventional chassis were also seen.
