A 1/8 scale plastic model kit of Marilyn Monroe is now available.
This kit recreates a scene from a camp show tour conducted by the United States Entertainment Organization (USO) in February 1954.
As she descends the stairs of a C-54 transport plane, she is seen wearing military wear appropriate for the US military base she is visiting, a stark contrast to the glamorous outfits seen on screen. I imagine the American soldiers on site felt both her loveliness and approachability in her attire. Her clothing, including a nylon B-15C flight jacket draped over her shoulders and a wool shirt, suggests that February was a very cold month when she visited. Buttons have been added to the waist of her pants to allow for adjustment, and her ability to accentuate her feminine silhouette while wearing military wear is remarkable.
