This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the BMW 328 Roadster, a BMW two-seater sports car that was active in sports car races before World War II.
About the actual car
The BMW 328 is a BMW two-seater sports car that debuted in February 1937. The machine made its appearance at a race held at the Nürburgring in June of the previous year, 1936, and participated in the race as a test. It overwhelmed its rivals in that race, won, and attracted attention. The low and flowing roadster body is equipped with a straight 6-cylinder 1971cc engine in the front. It adopted an aluminum head and a cross-flow valve arrangement and was equipped with triple carburetors, producing 80 horsepower. With a wheelbase of 2400mm and an overall length of 3900mm, the compact body and vehicle weight were kept down to 830kg, achieving a top speed of 150km/h. At the time, it was not only a popular car as one of the dream sports cars, but it also achieved numerous glories, such as winning the Mille Miglia and its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
