●Easily build the Silver Arrow's Le Mans winning car
This is the Mercedes Group C car, Meruet, which achieved a 1-2 finish in the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans. This is an easy-to-assemble plastic model kit that reproduces the C9 in 1/43 scale.
About the actual car
The Mercedes Group C car, the Mercedes C9, achieved the first victory in 37 years at the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans. It had an aluminum monocoque chassis and was equipped with a 5-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers. It debuted in 1987 as a machine to participate in the WSPC, the World Championship for Group C cars. In 1989, the 4973cc engine was improved with a DOHC head and the fuel control system was also updated, producing a maximum output of 700 horsepower. In the 1989 season, Mercedes demonstrated overwhelming strength, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans and seven out of eight races in the WSPC series, achieving a triple crown of manufacturer, driver, and team titles.
