■Product Description
The Fiat 500 was developed for a market that was larger than a motorcycle but smaller than a regular car, similar to the kei car market in Japan, and was released in 1957. As the name suggests, it was equipped with a 500cc air-cooled two-cylinder engine, and despite its extremely small body of 3m in length, it could accommodate four adults, making it a huge hit in Europe, especially in its home country of Italy, as an inexpensive car. Approximately 4 million units were produced before production ended in 1975. Taking advantage of its small body, modifications to make it faster were popular, and Abarth, which later became a subsidiary of Fiat and played a key role in motorsports activities, also produced modification parts and complete cars that were popular. Hot Wheels has reproduced the appearance of the Fiat 500, equipped with overfenders and wide wheels, and a fixed rear engine hood that can be left open for heat dissipation, just like those made by Abarth.
