The Panther V tank is considered the masterpiece tank that had the best balance of mobility, firepower, and defense among the German tanks that appeared in World War II. The hull design, which differed in character from previous German tanks, is said to have been influenced by the Soviet T-34, which troubled the German army that invaded the Soviet Union. Its hull is characterized by the adoption of sloped armor and is equipped with a 7.5cm gun with a 70 caliber. It was equipped with a Maybach HL230V 12-cylinder gasoline engine. Of the various types produced, the G type was the one whose production began in March 1944 and became the de facto final production model of the Panther tank. Furthermore, from the middle of the war onward, the German Air Force, which was at a disadvantage, gradually lost air superiority, and ground tank units were exposed to attacks by Allied aircraft. For this reason, additional armor for anti-aircraft protection was added to the top of the turret and the engine compartment.
This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that models the German Panther tank G type from World War II with added anti-aircraft armor.
The sloped armor body design, turret, and hull are reproduced with great realism. The anti-aircraft armor plates, which give a powerful impression to the finished product, are provided as photo-etched parts. The armor on the top of the turret has a two-layer structure with two armor plates, and the hexagonal heads of the mounting bolts are also modeled. Furthermore, bulletproof plates to protect the engine deck are also included in the set. The kit also conveys the struggles the tank faced from enemy aircraft.
