About the real car.
The M727 missile carrier, equipped with its launcher and missile units, is a self-propelled launch vehicle. It was developed on the basis of the M548 series of traction/cargo vehicles derived from the vehicle body of the M113 armored personnel carrier. It had a platform in the rear of the vehicle, and three MIM-23 Hawk missiles were fitted with rotary launchers. The steering wheel used a roll-over protective structure to protect the crew. It was powered by a Detroit diesel engine, and the top speed on the pavement reached about 56 km/h.
