■Product Description
●Atlantis re-releases the old Aurora kit
About the actual aircraft
The KC-135 is an aerial refueling tanker of the United States Air Force that began operation in 1957 and is still in active service today after numerous modifications. Developed by Boeing, the total number of aircraft produced, including all types, exceeds 800. A modernization program was implemented from the late 1970s, and updates including engine replacement were carried out, making it a masterpiece that continues to be active on the front lines more than 60 years after the introduction of the first aircraft. It is equipped with four turbofan engines on a 35-degree swept wing. Aerial refueling can be performed through a flying boom at the rear of the aircraft. In addition, it is possible to carry passengers and cargo on the cargo deck above the refueling system. It is operated not only in the United States but also in various countries.
About the model
This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the KC-135 Stratotanker, an aerial refueling tanker operated by the United States military. This is a re-release by Atlantis Models of a 1/125 scale kit originally published by Aurora in the 1960s. The fuselage is split into left and right halves, and the aircraft's shape, equipped with swept wings, is faithfully reproduced. Of course, the rear boom part is a separate part that also reproduces its shape. It models the distinctive appearance of an aerial refueling tanker. This kit will give you the feel of a vintage model kit from the 1960s.
