It had a two-stage structure, with a rocket glider using chemical fuel in the lower stage and a nuclear rocket engine in the upper stage, and an adapter section containing the astronauts' living quarters between the lower stage rocket glider and the upper stage. Initially, the lower stage rocket ascended to an altitude of 170,000 feet. At this point, the lower stage rocket glider was separated and glided back to the ground. After that, the nuclear engine section of the upper stage rocket separated and was connected by a cable to the adapter section containing the crew, and the adapter section moved to a position 1,000 feet behind the nuclear engine section. At that point, the nuclear engine started up and proceeded towards the Moon or planet. The lower glider section also includes modeled landing gear that is stored inside the aircraft, and the crew compartment includes a desk inside.
