The Piasecki H-16 is a tandem rotor helicopter developed by the American Piasecki Company.
It made its first flight in 1953. Developed as a transport/rescue helicopter, it was tested by the US Air Force and Army, but was not adopted, and only two were produced.
It had a crew of three, a capacity of 47 soldiers, or 38 stretchers and 5 attendants, and was equipped with two Allison T56-A5 turboshaft engines.

This model is a 1/96 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the H-16, a tandem rotor helicopter developed by the American Piasecki Company.
This kit is a re-release by Atlantis Models of a kit previously sold by Revell. The helicopter's fuselage is split into left and right halves to reproduce its style.
The front nose canopy is a transparent part that faithfully reproduces the detailed frame design. The cockpit includes a pilot figure. The rotor blades and landing gear are also very realistic. The rear lights can be opened and closed. The kit also includes trading cards from Atlantis Models. This kit will be enjoyed by airplane model fans and vintage kit fans alike.
