This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Trabant 601S, a mass-produced car widely used in Eastern European countries after World War II.
About the Actual Car
The Trabant, commonly known as the Trabi, was a people's car produced in East Germany during the Cold War after World War II. It was made in 1958 by a manufacturer called VEB Sachsenring in East Germany. The Type 601 is a later model produced from 1961. The body, which was said to be made of cardboard, was formed by heat-pressing laminated fibers made from waste cotton and phenolic resin. The engine was an air-cooled inline 2-cylinder 2-stroke with a displacement of 593cc. It was mounted transversely at the front and drove the front wheels (FF). In addition to a 2-door sedan, a 2-door station wagon was also available in the lineup. It was a vehicle that was readily available to the general public in East Germany and was popular for a long time.

The interior and the underside of the chassis also realistically reproduce the suspension and other mechanisms. Etched parts are also included to create a sharp finish. The police version also accurately models the equipment such as the lights mounted on the roof. Markings are included for a total of 6 types of vehicles from the 1980s to 2007.
