This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Giulia 1600 Spider, a 1.6-liter spider that was added to the lineup in 1962.
About the actual car
The Italian automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo unveiled the Giulietta Spider, a two-seater open sports model, at the 1955 Paris Motor Show. This car was developed based on the attractive coupe Giulietta, which was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show the previous year, in 1954. Subsequently, the captivating open car, the Giulietta Spider, was a great success, and in 1962, the Giulia 1600 Spider, equipped with a larger displacement 1570cc engine, was added to the lineup. Pininfarina's design remained largely unchanged, and the engine was a 1.6-liter twin-cam four-cylinder. It produced a maximum output of 92 horsepower and a top speed of 109 mph. With the installation of the taller 1.6-liter engine compared to the 1.3-liter, the engine hood was bulged and an air scoop was designed. Other than that, there were no major changes, and Pininfarina's attractive design was carried over, and it was produced until 1964.
