This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the masterpiece fighter plane, Macchi MC.202 Folgore, deployed and operated by the Italian military in World War II, in a large 1/32 scale.
About the actual aircraft
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore is considered a masterpiece among the fighter aircraft developed by Italy during World War II. In line with the R program, which aimed to modernize air force aircraft before World War II, Macchi developed the MC.200. Development of its evolved version began, and it made its first flight in August 1940. The engine replaced the Fiat A74RC38 liquid-cooled radial engine of the MC.200 with the DB601A-1 liquid-cooled inverted V-engine from Allied Germany, which produced over 1000 horsepower. Along with the engine change, the design of the airframe shape was also drastically changed. The design with a smaller frontal projected area improved aerodynamic performance. It recorded a top speed of 600 km/h, surpassing the German Messerschmitt Bf109 which was equipped with the same engine. In addition, combined with its inherent maneuverability, it was an aircraft that excelled in both hit-and-run tactics and dogfights.

This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Macchi MC.202 Folgore, one of the finest aircraft in the history of the Italian Air Force, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023.
The scale is 1/32, and the number of parts is over 200. Italian manufacturer Italeri has reproduced this masterpiece aircraft in its entirety with a completely new design and mold.
The finished length is 276mm. The aircraft's design, full of speed, is expressed with a level of detail only possible in the large 1/32 scale, from panel lines to rivets and other fine details. The DB601 engine in the nose is reproduced, from the turbocharger and other auxiliary equipment to the engine support frame. The cockpit, machine guns, and even the landing gear and landing gear bays are modeled realistically and mechanically. The wheels are reproduced in a state of deformation due to their own weight.
In addition, photo-etched parts are also provided to give the finished product a sharp look. The cockpit meters are three-dimensional 3D decals.
The decals include large decals that reproduce 8 types of aircraft markings, as well as 4 types of unique camouflage patterns.
