This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Italian fighter-bomber Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete from World War II.
About the actual aircraft
The Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete was a fighter-bomber developed and deployed by the Italian military during World War II. It was developed by Reggiane in 1941 and deployed to the Italian Air Force from 1943. It was developed as a fighter-bomber based on the airframe of the Re.2000 fighter, which was developed by Reggiane. It was equipped with a Piaggio P.XIX RC45 radial air-cooled 14-cylinder engine that produced 1175 horsepower. The aircraft design, with its clean cowling that covered the engine and a large spinner, exhibited excellent flight performance. The aircraft was equipped with two 12.7mm machine guns in the nose and two 7.7mm machine guns in the wings. Furthermore, it could carry up to 500kg of bombs under the fuselage and wings. It fought valiantly in intercepting the Allied forces that began landing on Sicily in July 1943.

The distinctive aircraft design is reproduced in a finished length of 113mm. The flaps can be assembled in either the closed or lowered position. The radial air-cooled engine is also modeled in the nose. A 500kg bomb to be mounted under the fuselage is also included, along with a release arm. The appearance of the fighter-bomber is impressive. Of course, the cockpit is also modeled, including the seat, control stick, and instrument panel. The main landing gear struts are also delicately expressed. The tires are designed to replicate the deformed state of the contact surface. Four marking options are included, including markings for aircraft used by the Italian Air Force as well as the German Air Force.
