After World War II, Chevrolet in the United States first resumed full-scale mass production in 1946. The production of the minor change model of the 1942 model was the first. With the minor change, the series name was newly given to the Chevrolet Stylemaster/Fleetmaster, and it became very popular. These models were produced in 1946, 1947, and 1948. The Stylemaster had a lineup of 2-door sedans, business coupes, 5-seater coupes and 4-door sports sedans, while the Fleetmaster had a lineup of 2-door and 4-door sedans, 2-door coupes, 2-door convertibles, and 4-door station wagons. In addition, 2-door and 4-door fastbacks and aero sedans were also available. All were equipped with a 3.5-liter inline 6-cylinder engine. Their style and mechanics make them popular models for collections and as a base for customization even today.
