■Product Description
The Independence was an aircraft carrier operated by the United States Navy during World War II, and was the lead ship of the Independence-class aircraft carriers. This ship, the fourth to bear the name Independence, was built as a light cruiser but was changed in type by order of President Roosevelt and completed as a light aircraft carrier. With its sleek hull inherited from light cruisers and high-powered engines, the Independence had excellent speed and played a key role in the high-speed carrier task force.
The kit consists of an injection-molded plastic body, and the "Standard Edition" includes decals, while the "Deluxe Edition" includes photo-etched parts, metal parts, deck mask stickers, etc. in addition to the contents of the "Standard Edition". This is a wonderful kit that reproduces the Independence as a waterline model with delicate detail.
