Having successfully developed the fifth-generation fighter jet J-20, China is currently working on developing two types of sixth-generation fighter jets. The twin-engine, lambda-wing aircraft, which was spotted around the same time as the three-engine, delta-wing J-36, is believed to be under development by China's state-owned aircraft manufacturer Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC), and is unofficially referred to as the J-50.
