■Product Description
The development of a 45-ton class tank, requested by the German Ordnance Office in 1941, became a competition between Henschel and Porsche. Ultimately, Henschel's design was adopted, and the "Tiger" was born, but Porsche had produced a considerable number of armor plates before the decision not to adopt their design was made. Most of these were converted into Tiger(P) tank destroyers (=Ferdinand/Elefant), but a very small number were deployed to the 653rd Heavy Tank Destroyer Battalion. This kit reproduces a vehicle modified in 1944.
