■Product Description
The M-84 is a main battle tank that Yugoslavia independently improved upon the Soviet T-72M.
Yugoslavia obtained the license to produce the T-72 in 1979, but the improved design took time, so mass production of the M-84 did not begin until 1984.
The main gun, the 2A46 125mm smoothbore gun, and the secondary armament, the M86 (=7.62mm PKT machine gun) and M87 (=12.7mm NSVT heavy machine gun), are the same as the T-72, but smoke grenades are newly equipped on the front of the turret and environmental sensors are mounted on top of the turret.
The M-84A, a further improved version of the M-84, is equipped with a new fire control system, has additional periscopes and armor plates, and has been fitted with a more powerful engine, resulting in improved mobility.
