The Devastator was a carrier-based torpedo bomber developed by Douglas Aircraft. Initially considered one of the world's best torpedo bombers, it was obsolete by the start of the Pacific War. However, it played a significant role in the Battle of the Coral Sea, sinking the aircraft carrier "Shoho." The A model is a prototype seaplane version equipped with floats.
