■Product Description
The Leopard 2, the main battle tank representing the modern German Army, replaced the Leopard 1 and entered service in 1979. The main gun was upgraded from the previous 105mm gun to a more powerful 120mm smoothbore gun. Also, the turret was a rectangular turret with a vertical front section until the early production A4 model, but from the A5 onwards it was equipped with wedge-shaped additional armor.
The Leopard 2A6 replaced the A5's 44-caliber 120mm smoothbore gun with a longer-barreled 55-caliber 120mm smoothbore gun to extend the range and improve firepower.
