■Product Description
The SS-501 "Soryu," completed in March 2009 under the FY2004 plan, became the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's first AIP (Air-Independent Propulsion) submarine by adopting a Stirling engine in addition to diesel engines.
Furthermore, its appearance is distinct from conventional JMSDF submarines due to the adoption of the X-rudder, a first for the JMSDF, and the streamlined base of the sail.
Decals for the ship numbers and names of 12 submarines, from the SS-501 "Soryu" to the SS-511 "Oryu," completed in March 2020, and the SS-512 "Toryu," scheduled for completion in March 2021, are included.
