■ Description
It was commissioned in 1981 as the second anti-submarine helicopter patrol vessel. Its predecessor was a large-scale expansion, but it was the first to introduce large-scale computer and information processing capabilities to the CIC. It also attracted attention for its individual anti-submarine air defense, with a three-masted short SAM and a 20mm CIWS flank. Later, the mounted helicopter was changed from HSS-2B to SH-60J, improving its anti-submarine capabilities. It was the largest patrol vessel until the introduction of the anti-submarine type.
