■ Description
In order to replace the aging ships, the construction of the Hyung-class cruisers began with a budget of 16 years.
It is required to develop all kinds of capabilities beyond the normal type, and the standard discharge is the largest of any self-defense ship of 13,950 tonnes.
The ship type is an aircraft carrier with an all-wheel-drive deck and an island deck to improve the operational efficiency of the helicopter, enabling three helicopters to land simultaneously.
11 helicopters can be installed on the deck and in the storage compartment, and in the maintenance space behind the rear elevator, the rotor can be extended without being affected by the weather.
The hull and upper structures have been tilted on the sides for stability, and the surfaces have been smoothly shaped, and a number of new aircraft axes have been introduced, such as the state-of-the-art FCS-3 modified multifunctional radar and the OQQ-21 integrated sonar system.
The ships were equipped with command offices, staff offices, and officers' residences to serve as the flagship of the escort fleet, and for the first time, from the design stage, were equipped with female self-defense officers.
As a new generation of helicopter-powered escort ships, of course, high command and helicopter operational capabilities are also expected to be deployed as a rescue base at sea in times of major disasters.
We've been out of production for a long time, and we're launching the J37 "1/700 Sea-to-Sea Patrol Ship" as a new compact kit that can be manufactured with the same type of ship.
