■Product Description
The Hatsuharu-class destroyers, planned under the London Naval Treaty, were halted after construction was halted after only 6 ships due to the unrealistic design that became apparent after completion. As a result, the Shiratsuyu-class destroyers were built, consisting of 10 ships, with a significantly revised design that included the first adoption of the 61cm quadruple torpedo tubes, which would later become standard equipment on Japanese destroyers. The first ship, "Shiratsuyu," was completed in 1936 and played an active role in the Battle of the Coral Sea, the Battle of Midway, and the transport operation to Guadalcanal after the start of the war.

・This kit features a newly molded model of an early construction ship (1942) of the Shiratsuyu-class destroyer equipped with a square bridge. The model precisely reproduces the distinctive features of the Shiratsuyu-class destroyers, such as the 61cm quadruple torpedo launchers with self-loading mechanisms, the 40mm single machine gun mounted on the gun platform in the center of the ship, and the loop antenna installed on the searchlight platform aft of the second funnel.
・Includes decals for the sister ships "Shigure" and "Murasame"
