■Product Description
The Akagi joins the Wave Series, which includes a sea surface stage that allows you to easily and realistically depict the ship sailing once completed!!
(Structure and Specifications Features)
・Composed of pre-colored parts, so the desired coloring can be reproduced without painting.
・It is a snap-fit assembly, so it can be assembled without using glue.
・A sea surface base is included to reproduce the ship sailing on the open sea and to display it in a more realistic and easy way.
(Product Features)
・The product is modeled after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 (at the start of the war), and the scale is 1/700.
・This product was manufactured using a later mold design than the same scale/different series (Special Series).
・The completed product is a waterline model type that reproduces the part above the waterline.
・The parts are molded in a gray color that mimics the historical Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color (registered with the Yokosuka Naval District, entered dry dock at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal in 1942).
・The display sea surface base three-dimensionally represents the wake generated from the bow, sides, and propellers.
Hull
・The hull is divided into left and right halves, separated by the waterline. It is molded in a special gray color that mimics the battleship color used at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal.
・The sides are divided into left and right halves, and the portholes and external electrical conduits are expressed with sharp, three-dimensional sculpting.
・Fairleaders and other fittings and molded parts are realistically reproduced with sharp sculpting.
Flight Deck
・The flight deck is made of separate parts for the steel and wooden deck sections. The color separation can be expressed without painting.
・The wooden deck is realistic even without painting thanks to the delicate carving, and the depth is suitable for panel lining when painting.
・The elevators have their eyelets expressed with delicate carving.
・The drainage gutters and windbreaks around the flight deck, and the truss structure on the underside are rendered in three dimensions with fine detail.
Bow
・The anchor deck at the bow has the fittings molded as one piece, and the anchor chains and other details are reproduced in a three-dimensional form.
・The crane rails under the stern flight deck are separate parts, showing attention to detail even in hard-to-see areas.
・The pillars and auxiliary pillars supporting the flight deck are reproduced with delicate parts.
Fitting
・The tip of the funnel is a separate part and is molded in black to reproduce the paint separation without painting, and the depth of the exhaust port is also reproduced.
・The bridge has a realistic shape with molding applied all around using a slide mold.
・The 20cm guns mounted on both sides of the stern are exquisitely crafted, even down to the wrinkles in the canvas.
Aircraft
・The included aircraft are the three types (Zero Fighter, Type 99 Dive Bomber, and Type 97 Torpedo Bomber) that were on board when the ship was lost between December 1941 and June 1942.
The Zero Fighter and Type 99 Dive Bomber are molded in light gray, and the included Hinomaru marking stickers make it easy to reproduce the coloring.
・The Type 97 Torpedo Bomber is molded in dark green.
Each aircraft is made from one piece, with three of each included, for a total of nine aircraft.
Included Stickers
・Pre-cut stickers with excellent adhesion are included, making it easy to paint the details.
・The included stickers include linoleum flooring for the outer walkways on the sides of the hull and white lines on the flight deck, allowing for color representation without painting.
・In addition to the stickers, decals are included for painted finishes, including white lines on the flight deck and Hinomaru (Japanese flag) markings for the aircraft.
・From this product (first production lot in November 2025), the white line markings have been revised to accurately represent the pattern based on further research.
・The molded parts consist of 7 colors in total. (Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color, black, linoleum color, wooden deck color, dark green, light gray, clear blue)
