■Product Description
A detailed model of the battleship Kongo, from its appearance with enhanced anti-aircraft armament during the Battle of Leyte Gulf to its final appearance!
Additional precision fitting parts to the standard specifications (STD), and the Type 0 reconnaissance seaplane/searchlight are molded in clear plastic for added realism.
This product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing and painting.
The scale is 1/700, and it is a waterline model that does not include the hull bottom.
This product is made using the same molds as the conventional (Special Series).
(Basic Specifications)
・It is a glue-type assembly specification, characterized by its detailed construction that pursues sculptural detail.
・The molded color is mainly gray, and it is designed to be assembled while enjoying painting.
・The product is based on the appearance of the Kongo-class battleship No. 1 "Kongo" from Operation Sho-Go No. 1 in October 1944 to its final appearance.
・Type 21 and Type 22 radars are mounted on the bridge, and Type 13 radar is mounted on the aft mast.
・Additional machine gun mounts are installed on the roofs of the No. 2 and No. 3 main guns.
・The anti-aircraft command post has been enlarged.
・Two searchlights have been removed and the number of 25mm triple machine guns has been increased.
・Some of the secondary guns have been removed, the casings have been closed, and two 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft guns have been added.
・The anti-aircraft command post has been modified by removing the observation direction board.
・The No. 7 and No. 8 machine guns have been moved to machine gun mounts near the funnel.
・The 4.5-meter rangefinder on the aft bridge has been replaced with an additional machine gun.
・The ship has an additional single machine gun.
(Structure, Specifications, Features)
・The hull has a structure in which the port and starboard sides are one piece.
・The portholes, a characteristic of the later stages of the war, are represented with raised molding to depict their closed-off state.
・The upper deck is a single-piece structure with delicate carvings of a wooden deck.
・The bridge base is a single-piece structure part made using slide molding.
・The linoleum flooring of the aircraft handling deck is provided as a separate part from the upper deck.
・Only the Kongo has a special part to reproduce the slanted shape at the boundary with the wooden deck.
・The funnel is a two-piece structure with left and right sides glued together.
・The strip patterns on the floor, such as the anti-aircraft gun mounts, are represented with fine carvings.
・The funnel caps are precisely constructed in an open state.
・The main gun roofs are Kongo/Hiei-specific parts with a flat side shape.
・The main guns have the barrel and canvas as one piece, and the elevation angle is fixed.
・The main gun muzzles are open using slide molding.
・The 25mm twin machine guns are additionally included with precisely molded parts.
・Two-part molded parts from 2018 with an easy-to-paint structure.
・Binocular telescope parts are included for added detail to the bridge.
・Two Type 0 Reconnaissance Seaplanes (gray molded) and one Type 0 Reconnaissance Seaplane (transparent molded) are included.
・Main parts, hull bottom plate, aircraft, and machine gun parts are molded in gray.
・Searchlight parts are transparent molded.
・Includes divided parts designed for improved quality, standardization, and ease of painting.
・Replacement parts for conventional parts, molded from 2021.
・Type 13 radar, Type 22 radar, and Type 21 radar are included.
・The Type 22 radar can also be built in its extended form.
・A 9-meter cutter, 12-meter motorboat, 12-meter motor launch, and mounting base are included.
・Parts are divided into wood color, battleship color, and canvas parts for easier painting.
• Includes the chrysanthemum emblem on the bow and the navigation lights on both sides of the bridge (some modification is required for installation).
• Two types of decals are included.
• One decal sheet containing markings for the naval ensign and carrier-based aircraft.
