■Product Description
The Special Series aircraft carrier Taiho (wooden deck) is now available with photo-etched parts!
・The product is modeled after the appearance from the time of completion to the Battle of the Philippine Sea.
・The flight deck, which has various theories, is modeled after a wooden deck and includes specially designed parts with carvings.
Newly designed parts for 2021 have been prepared to unify the differences in the degree of reproduction of equipment etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting work into consideration. ・The No. 21 radar is expressed with more delicate carvings than conventional included parts, such as the base of the insulator for fixing the element on the front side.
・The 12-meter motor launch has the canvas and the canopy of the wheelhouse/engine room as separate parts to take painting into consideration. Each part is painted and then assembled and glued afterwards.
・The boat body and the loading area floor are made of 3 parts and assembled after painting, eliminating the need for masking.
・The 12-meter motor launch can also be expressed in the shape without the canvas.
- A new chrysanthemum emblem is provided for the bow.
- A pair of navigation lights, which were previously omitted from the model, are now provided as additional parts.
- Decals including the ship's name on the stern (in a solid battleship gray color scheme) have been added.
- The Type 96 25mm triple machine gun now comes standard with a two-part configuration to reduce painting/color separation work.
・Includes four aircraft based on historical facts (Zero Fighter Type 52, Type 21 (bombed), Suisei, and Tenzan).
・Binocular telescope parts are added to the anti-aircraft command post.
・The hull has a one-piece structure with the port and starboard sides integrated, eliminating the need for gluing or seam removal.
・A sealed anchor chain deck is also reproduced with parts, allowing the interior to be seen through the opening.
・Portholes are represented by recessed carvings on the sides, and eaves are reproduced with raised carvings.
・The flight deck is carved to resemble a wooden deck and is made of a single molded part from bow to stern.
・The forward and aft elevators and windbreak sections are open and have separate parts.
・The elevators can be assembled in either the raised or lowered position to the hangar.
・The truss structure on the stern and underside of the flight deck is three-dimensionally carved. Expressed through engraving.
・The searchlights on the flight deck are in the retracted position, and the cranes are in the raised position.
・The base of the bridge is a single molded part with engraving on five sides, utilizing slide molding.
・The funnel, which is integrated with the bridge, is made of left and right split parts, and the steam exhaust pipes and supports are separate parts for added detail.
・The funnel caps are molded in a "removed" state for a sense of precision.
・The bridge (anti-aircraft command post) comes with binoculars to enhance the sense of precision.
・The high-angle gun mounts and machine gun mounts on the sides of the hull are separate parts, and the strip pattern on the floor is expressed with fine engraving.
・The long 10cm twin high-angle guns, one of its distinctive features, are specially made parts for the Taiho.
・Various types of hull fittings such as radio antenna supports, landing guidance lights, and ladders are made of separate parts. .
・The 25mm triple machine gun is precisely molded and features a two-part structure that makes painting easy, with parts from the 2018 mold included as standard.
・The carrier-based aircraft include 16 aircraft in total, consisting of 4 types of aircraft used in the Battle of the Philippine Sea in June 1944.
・Four Zero Fighter Model 52s are included, with the canopy and propeller made into separate parts for easier painting.
・Four Zero Fighter Model 21s (bomb load) are included. The included drop tanks on both wings and the 250kg bombs under the fuselage are reproduced as separate parts.
・Four Suisei carrier bombers are included, the Type 11 with its unique shape and liquid-cooled engine is reproduced.
・Four Tenzan carrier attack aircraft are included, the distinctive four-wing propeller and the 250kg bombs suspended under the fuselage are provided as separate parts.
・The high-angle gun mounts and machine gun mounts on the sides are also reproduced as separate parts. The floor strip pattern is expressed with finely sculpted details.
・15 aircraft are included, 5 each of the Zero Fighter Type 21, Dive Bomber Type 99, and Dive Bomber Type 97, molded in gray.
・The main parts, hull bottom plate, aircraft, and machine gun parts are molded in gray.
3 types of decals are included
・One decal sheet for aircraft markings is included.
・One decal sheet for the ship name at the stern and white lines on the pillars is included.
・One decal sheet specifically for Taiho is included, containing flight deck markings and naval ensign.
Etched parts are included that can express even the smallest details that are difficult to reproduce with injection molded parts.
Etched parts include railings, ladders, smokestack area, mast, radar, direction-finding antenna, boat davits, cranes, etc.
