■Product Description
The "Unryu-class No. 2 ship Amagi," a distinctive medium-sized aircraft carrier produced during wartime that featured simplified construction, now includes new parts!
The product is modeled after its appearance at the time of its completion in August 1944.
It reproduces features that differ from the No. 1 ship Unryu, such as the square machine gun mounts for simplified construction and the enlarged rear of the bridge.
Newly designed parts have been prepared to unify the differences in the degree of reproduction of equipment etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting work into consideration.
・The No. 13 radar is a newly included part with engraved truss structure and shape representation of the antenna part.
・The No. 21 Type 6 radar for the bridge and the insulator base for fixing the element on the front side are expressed with more delicate engraving than the conventional included parts.
・The 12.7 cm twin high-angle gun A1 Kai 1 has been subdivided into a total of 6 parts, increasing the molding resolution from the existing 2 parts.
・The 9-meter cutter is made of two parts for painting purposes, and the cradle is a separate part, allowing for a choice between a single-piece deck molding or a separate cradle.
・The 12-meter motorboat has separate canvas and wheelhouse/engine room canopies for painting purposes. Each part is painted and then assembled and glued together.
・The boat body and loading area floor are separate parts in a three-part construction, eliminating the need for masking after painting and assembly.
・The 12-meter motor launch can also be represented without the canvas.
・The ship's boat cradle features molded details such as indentations and lightening holes, resulting in a more detailed and precise design.
・A new chrysanthemum emblem is provided for the bow.
・A pair of navigation lights, which were previously omitted from the model, are provided as additional parts.
・A decal including the ship's name on the stern (in a solid battleship gray color) has been added.
・The Type 96 25mm triple machine gun/single machine gun now comes standard with a 2-part configuration to reduce painting/color separation work.
・Includes 6 of each of the 4 aircraft types (Zero Fighter Type 52, Type 21 (bombed), Type 99 Dive Bomber Type 22, Tenzan Carrier Attack Bomber).
