■Product Description
The Soryu, a key member of the First Mobile Fleet, is back with three selectable appearances: 1938, the start of the war, and the MI Operation, plus new parts!

The aircraft carrier Soryu was built after the Ryujo, and was constructed without being constrained by the limitations of the disarmament treaty. With a displacement of 15,900 tons, a length of 227.5m, and a speed of 34.5 knots, it was completed at the Kure Naval Arsenal in December 1937 as a well-balanced medium-sized aircraft carrier.
After entering service, it participated in the Sino-Japanese War, and in the Pacific War, it participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor at the start of the war, supported the capture of Wake Island, and fought in various battles in the Indian Ocean. In June 1942, during the MI Operation (Operation Midway), it was hit and burned by an attack from the US task force and sank.

・The product is modeled after its appearance in 1938, shortly after its completion, and in 1941, at the start of the Pacific War.
・During Operation MI in June 1942, the flight deck also has friend-or-foe identification (Rising Sun) markings, so it can also be used during the Battle of Midway.

Newly designed parts have been prepared to unify the degree of reproduction of equipment etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts have been divided to allow for painting.
・The 12.7 cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 is subdivided into 4 parts, improving the level of detail from the existing 2 parts.
・The 12.7 cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 Kai 2 with smoke shield is subdivided into 4 parts, improving the level of detail.
・The 9 meter cutter on the boat deck has been made into 2 parts to allow for painting.
・For the 12 meter motorboat, the canvas and the canopy of the steering room/engine room are separate parts to allow for painting. Each part is painted and then assembled and glued together.
・A new chrysanthemum emblem has been prepared for the bow.
・The boat hull and loading deck are separate parts, making it possible to assemble them after painting without masking.
・The cradle for the 12-meter motorboat loaded at the stern features molded details such as uneven surfaces and lightening holes, resulting in a more detailed and precise design.

・Two types of flight deck markings are provided, for 1938 and 1941, and the red identification circle from the 1942 MI operation is also included.
・Decals including the ship's name on the stern (in a solid battleship gray color) have been added.
・The Type 96 25mm twin machine guns are standard parts, reducing the painting/color separation work. ・The hull has a structure where the port and starboard sides are one piece, and features such as the lower bow deck compared to the Hiryu are reproduced with dedicated parts.
・Numerous portholes and the protruding boiler room ventilation ducts, which are often seen on the port side, are made of one piece, yet they have a three-dimensional feel.
・The flight deck is a single-piece structure with delicate carvings, including a finely crafted wooden deck, expansion joints, gutters surrounding all four sides, and eyelets on the iron deck.
・Elevators and windbreaks are provided as separate parts.
・The anchor chain deck and boat deck are expressed with delicate carvings, including anti-slip split patterns and linoleum fasteners.
・The funnel is a two-piece structure with upper and lower parts glued together.
・The strip patterns on the floor, such as the anti-aircraft gun mounts, are expressed with fine carvings.
・The bridge includes separate parts for binoculars to enhance the sense of precision.
・17 aircraft of 5 different types are included, molded in gray.
・The aircraft for use in 1938 are 4 each of the Type 96 Carrier Fighter and Type 96 Carrier Bomber.
・From 1941 onwards, the carrier-based aircraft consisted of three each of the Zero Fighter Model 21, Type 99 Carrier Bomber, and Type 97 Carrier Attack Aircraft.
・The 25mm twin machine guns are precisely molded, easy to paint, and come in a two-part design with parts from the 2018 mold included as standard.
・The main parts, hull bottom plate, carrier-based aircraft, and machine gun parts are molded in gray.

●Three types of decals are included
・One decal sheet for aircraft markings is included.
・Two general-purpose decals are included for the ship name at the stern and the white lines on the deck supports.
・Flight deck markings, naval ensign, and flight deck/friendly identification mark (Rising Sun) from Operation MI in June 1942.

The product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing, assembly, and painting.
The scale is 1/700, and it is a waterline model that does not include the hull bottom.
This product is made up of conventional (Special Series) molds and newly designed additional parts.
