■Product Description
This gun was developed to be lighter and have a faster rate of fire than the Mk.42 127mm single rapid-fire gun that the US Navy had used up to that point. The turret is completely unmanned and has a rate of fire of 45 rounds per minute thanks to mechanical loading.
This makes it possible to fire not only against ships and land but also against airborne aircraft.
It is mounted on Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyers, including the Kongo-class and Takanami-class.
Currently, there are improved versions with a longer barrel of 62 caliber and shields that have been changed to a type that takes stealth into consideration.
■Product Specifications
Manufacturer: Fujimi Models
Item No: Equipment-6
Scale: Non-scale
JAN: 4968728020457
■Remarks
The product is modeled after the 127mm rapid-fire gun mounted on the Kongo-class destroyer.
The gun barrel can be elevated and depressed even after completion, and can be aimed up to an elevation angle of 85 degrees, just like the real thing.
The turret can be rotated even after completion.
Consists of one rapid-fire gun and a display base part.
The rapid-fire gun is painted in a special plastic color that mimics the hull color (N5) of the destroyer, and the base is painted in the deck color (N4).
It is a palm-sized model with a good visual appeal.
The ladders and railings for entering and exiting the hatches on both sides are separate plastic parts.
The cartridge case receiver follows the elevation of the gun.
Details such as the receiving part when the hatch is open and the cartridge case ejection port are accurately molded.
The muzzle brake at the tip of the barrel is represented by recessed engraving. The muzzle opening is reproduced using a slide mold.
A separate part is also included to show the barrel tip with a cover attached. The anchor and cherry blossom emblem are rendered in three dimensions with delicate engraving.
The turret is made of three pieces (left, right, and top) to minimize the number of parts, but the molding is accurately reproduced.
The hanging fittings on the outside of the turret are separate parts, increasing the sense of precision.
Includes parts for displaying shells and cartridge cases, as seen when ships are open to the public or on display.
Molded parts consist of 2 colors in total.
Number of assembly parts: 47+
Finished size: 144x75x71mm (turret only) 154x94x12mm (base only)
