■Product Description
The Mitsubishi F-2 is a support jet fighter of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force has a system in place to defend against threats such as fighter jets and bombers with the F-15J interceptor fighter, and threats such as ships and tanks with the F-1 support fighter.
The F-2 is an aircraft jointly developed by Japan and the United States as the successor to the F-1.
This aircraft, which was called FS-X at the beginning of its development, is based on the F-16 and
is designed using the latest technology.
Features of its exterior include a fuselage and wings that are slightly larger than the F-16,
a larger radome to accommodate the new radar, and a three-part canopy to deal with bird strikes during low-altitude flight.
Carbon-based composite materials, which Japan boasts to the world, are used in various parts of the aircraft, such as the wings,
and the aircraft's weight has been reduced.
In addition, CCV technology reflecting the experimental results of the T-2CCV aircraft has been introduced,
and the first fly-by-wire side stick system has been adopted for an Air Self-Defense Force aircraft,
achieving safe and excellent flight performance.
The F-2B is currently deployed at Matsushima Air Base and Misawa Air Base,
and is used as a training and familiarization training aircraft for the F-2.
