4967834014381
1/72 F/A-18C Hornet
■Product Description
The F/A-18 Hornet is a carrier-based fighter and attack aircraft developed by the United States Navy and Marine Corps as a successor to the F-4 Phantom and A-7 Corsair carrier attack aircraft.
In 1974, the United States Navy announced a plan to develop the next generation of carrier-based fighter-attack aircraft.
The candidates for this were General Dynamics' YF-16 and Northrop's YF-17 light fighter.
The United States Navy requested that the aircraft be equipped with semi-active radar-guided AAM Sparrow, and that a fire control system be introduced to operate it, as well as various modifications for operating aircraft carriers.
As a result of the evaluation, it was decided to make a major redesign based on the large, twin-engine YF-17, and McDonnell Douglas was selected as the prime contractor for development.
The first aircraft was completed on September 13, 1978, and successfully made its maiden flight in November of the same year. Unlike previous fighter jets, the F/A-18 can perform both fighter and attack missions with a single aircraft. This has led the U.S. Navy to establish fighter-attack squadrons (VFAs) that combine the missions of fighter and attack squadrons, and the Marine Corps to operate it as a successor to the Phantom in VMFAs. The A model is the first mass-produced model, and the B model is a two-seat trainer version with a rear seat added without extending the fuselage. The C model and the D model are both improved versions of the A and B models, respectively, with particularly enhanced night attack capabilities. The F/A-18 Hornet has been adopted by many countries other than the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, including Australia and Canada.

《Data》
Crew: 1
Wingspan: 11.43m
Length: 17.07m
Height: 4.66m
Maximum Takeoff Weight: 22,328kg
Engine: GE/F404-GE-400
Thrust: 4,990kg, (with afterburner: 7,983kg) x 2
Maximum Speed: Mach 1.8/11,000m
Fixed Armament: M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon x 1
First Flight: 1986.9.3.
