The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II is an improved version of the US Air Force's F-4C/D fighter-bomber and the first Phantom II to be equipped with a 20mm Vulcan cannon.
Aircraft from production block 48 onwards of the E model had their wing leading-edge flaps modified to leading-edge slats, improving their air combat performance.
Furthermore, a TISEO target identification system was mounted on the leading edge of the left wing, and
an ARN-101Mod antenna was added to the dorsal fuselage.
